As with all architecture jobs, international architecture jobs require at least a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and an internship. International architect employment will usually require work experience as well up to 5 or more years. Many times expatriates working in another country will find that there are tax benefits as well as living allowances when working at an international architecture job.

International architect employment will involve the same duties as an architect would perform when working in their own country. Those would include design responsibilities using software such as CAD and sometimes manual drawing as well as the ability to work within a budget and within a deadline. Architects with children in school or families to consider may have to travel ahead until the family can follow.

Some architects base their entire careers on working on an expatriate basis.
